August was a month of ups and downs for Alex…

August was a month of ups and downs for Alex: early in the month he enjoyed the birthday party of his 4-year-old at the hospital and thoroughly enjoyed a couple of home visits, too. Towards the end of the month, his left hand – the one physios have been working hard on to get movement in – can now grasp and release, albeit very gently. This is positive progress for him, but the highs are tempered with immense lows, frustrations and disorientation. September has begun well: his speech is becoming more interactive and he instigates comments of his own, rather than just responding to questions. He asked Tamsyn “What time is it, babes?”.
